El protagonista de &#8220;El perseguidor&#8221;, Johnny Carter, i el de &#8220;Rayuela&#8221;, Horaci Oliveira, tenen molts aspectes en com\u00fa. Tots dos s\u00f3n homes derrotats humanament, fracassats, personatges influ\u00efts pel jazz. Cort\u00e1zar va explicar que amb <em>El perseguidor<\/em> va comen\u00e7ar a abordar un problema de tipus existencial i hum\u00e0 que posteriorment es va amplificar amb <em>Rayuela<\/em>. L&#8217;argent\u00ed va llegir la biografia del m\u00fasic Charlie Parker, despr\u00e9s de la seva defunci\u00f3 en 1955, i va voler recrear el m\u00f3n de la literatura amb base en una altra manifestaci\u00f3 art\u00edstica per a obrir les seq\u00fc\u00e8ncies narratives entre el temps cronol\u00f2gic i l&#8217;\u00edntim. Va pretendre alliberar-se de l&#8217;estructura tancada que havia creat en la seva producci\u00f3 anterior, a trav\u00e9s de la m\u00fasica de jazz. <em>El perseguidor<\/em> \u00e9s un esb\u00f3s, dit per Cort\u00e1zar, del que despr\u00e9s seria <em>Rayuela<\/em>, novel\u00b7la on posa en pr\u00e0ctica la teoria liter\u00e0ria novel\u00b7l\u00edstica que apr\u00e8n a partir de la m\u00fasica del jazz. Aix\u00ed, Oliveira, la Maga, Ronald, Perico i els altres membres del Club de la Serp s\u00f3n amants de la m\u00fasica. Aquests comenten en aquesta obra peces de Dizzy Gillespie, Bessie Smith o Lester Young. El jazz ja no est\u00e0 representat, en <em>Rayuela<\/em>, en un protagonista en concret sin\u00f3 que forma part de la base estructural de la novel\u00b7la, que es conformar\u00e0 a partir de les partitures d&#8217;aquesta m\u00fasica.<\/p>\n<p>En aquest taller treballarem, per tant, la relaci\u00f3 \u00edntima que existeix entre l&#8217;escriptura de Cort\u00e1zar i el jazz, aix\u00ed com la po\u00e8tica i teoria de la novel\u00b7la de Julio Cort\u00e1zar en relaci\u00f3 a la seva passi\u00f3 per la m\u00fasica de jazz. El creador i l&#8217;int\u00e8rpret es fusionen tant en el jazz com en la tercera part de <em>Rayuela<\/em>. Aix\u00ed mateix, el llenguatge inventiu uneix aquesta part de la novel\u00b7la i el car\u00e0cter d&#8217;aquesta m\u00fasica.
